Now that the electronics have been installed, it’s on to the more usual modelmaking.
I’m going to start with the figures that came with the model.
It comes with three figures. Two drivers and a Chewbacca. Here is the base figure of Chewie, meant to be standing up from the top hatch. I won’t use him in this model, but it’s good to have him available if I have a model he does suit.
Here he is after I painted him. Figures are not really my thing, but I think the layers in his fur came out pretty decent.
Wookiee Booty!
Here are my pilots. They were both identical, and that didn’t work for me. I found that the minis from an older Star Wars tabletop game were basically 1/48 scale. So, I took a mini of an AT-AT driver who was crouched down with a small blaster in both hands. I cut off his arms and attached them to the pilot on the left. The gun in his right hand became a joystick after some cutting and a little styrene. I can’t remember what I did with the left hand. It may have looked like that, or I sculpted the finger point.
Here is where I look at the pictures I took years ago and I think, “Why didn’t I clean the seam lines??” I have no answer to this question.
