Falcon Build- Cargo Hold 2

Continuing with the hold build.

Here is the hold with the bench and computer in progress. The walls have had their holes cut out for detailing.

Here is the wall behind the big pipes on the aft wall. The walls on the port side have also been opened up for detailing.

Here I’m starting the framing of the room. The beams like the one next to the bunk should go all the way across, but I’m cutting them off so I can see into the room when the hull is removed.

Here is the detailing for the port side wall, starting with the door frame that came with the photo etch kit.

“But wait!” Some may say, “There’s supposed to be a bunk there!”
That didn’t exist until Force Awakens. That movie continued the tradition of making changes to the cargo hold of the Falcon like in every movie before it. The original designs included a room to be at the location where the bunk was later placed. In the OT movies, it’s just a blank wall though, so I decided to use the original idea and put something there a bit more detailed.

Here are the details I added to the starbord side by the doorway.
Those are some pins I got from a prior job years ago. They were from electronic connectors. These were in the female ports of the connectors to keep them in good shape until installation. I installed them and these were normally thrown away. I kept a bunch for greeblies. You’ll see them a lot in my builds, at least until I run out.
They kinda look like tiny festive lightsabers.
